FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm completely new to KupoCon. Where do I start?
Joining any new community can be daunting. However, KupoCon is designed to be as welcoming as possible. All we require from you is a little bit of confidence to make the commitment to attend the event. Even before doing that you can begin your journey by making new friends in our Community Group or on our Discord. On arrival, ask for a Chocobo badge. We have a system in place to support newcomers. KupoCon is like a giant Final Fantasy celebration or birthday party. You will be blown away by the unique atmosphere.
Explain the difference between the days?
Saturday is the main show. You can expect all the things you would find at a typical KupoCon. An opening and closing ceremony, special guests, a Final Fantasy focused market, quests, services and more.
Sunday is the community day. There is no extravagant setup. There is no market. We will be offering a range a smaller community panels and all KupoCon service desks will be available.
What is the Chocobo Badge system?
Blue: I have a disability or I am a carer. Please be patient with me and allow me some extra time to complete tasks.
Yellow: I’m new to KupoCon and I’d like to make friends. Please include me in your activities.
Red: I’m concious of my space. I might be worried about COVID. Please be respectful of my personal space and allow me the room I need to stay comfortable.
Please not that we have switched from stickers to pin badges and there is a small charge of £1 per badge to cover the cost of production. You can reuse these badges for your next event.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes. First of all, children 12 and under are completely free. You don’t need to pre-register them. Just arrive. We account for a large number of kids!
Unfortunately we have suspended our EARLYCHOCOBO and DRESSPHERE discount until further notice. With a struggling economy, producing KupoCon has become more expensive but we’ve kept prices the same regardless.
Do you have special hotel rates?
Unfortunately, due to demand, the room block is now full. There are plenty of hotels in the region that offer affordable rates.
Can I attend the evening or Sunday without attending the Saturday?
No. Our evening and community day are strictly for attendees of the main event. You will be required to show your day pass to access the evening. For example, you cannot bring an additional person to the evening if they didn’t have a day pass.
Are tickets limited?
Yes. Top tier tickets usually sell-out very quickly. Please plan accordingly. Ticket sales will begin on April 7 at 6pm. Patrons can access tickets on April 5 at 6pm. We expect demand to be extremely high.
When will you announce guests and loot?
As we get closer to the event we will reveal certain loot items and announce the special guests in attendance. In some cases it may only be weeks ahead of the event due to guest scheduling and commitments. We always aim to please, so don’t worry. Every KupoCon event has great guests and amazing loot!
I am disabled. Can I bring a caregiver with me?
It certain situations, yes. You would need to purchase your ticket and then apply for a caregiver NPC pass. The individual whom you wish to bring as your caregiver will need to show proof of one of the following:
-DLA Disability Living Allowance MIDDLE RATE OR HIGHER
-AA Attendance Allowance
-Blind Persons Registration
-PIP Personal Independence Payment ENHANCED CARE
-Armed Forces Independence Payment
…or the regional equivalent
You must apply in advance. You cannot do this at the door. Send us an email with your ticket order number and supporting documents to [email protected] – Applications must be submitted by May 1st.
What restrictions come with NPC?
With an NPC ticket you cannot do the following:
– Participate in a stage event (you can watch)
– Complete a quest log (unless you purchase)
– Pre-register on the Friday
– Apply for a table
– Participate in the cosplay contest
– Guest meet and greets
This ticket is only recommended for people who are unfamiliar with Final Fantasy and are perhaps attending as a support, chaperone or plus one. Note that you cannot enter a Non-NPC area with someone who has a higher ticket type unless you are a legal carer.
I would like a table at KupoCon. How do I register?
Visit the market section of our website. Make sure you have a valid ticket and apply for a free table. Additional tables can be purchased and we now offer advertisement space in our Quest Log.
Where can I learn more about all the KupoCon terms?
We have a dedicated glossary on our website. You can find it here: https://kupocon.com/glossary/
Is your event LGBTQ+ friendly?
Everyone is welcome at KupoCon. As long as you respect our rules, you need not worry. Please join us.
Where is your event schedule?
We typically post a schedule 30 days ahead of the event. It will be posted to this page.
How do you set your ticket prices?
KupoCon works really hard to keep the event affordable but also rewarding. Our tickets may be more expensive than your typical local con, but the rewards with ours are far greater. The quest log alone can earn you lots of free rewards.
