ATTENDING KUPOCON

  • Your ticket must show your legal name. You will be required to show ID to prove your identity. If you do not have suitable documentation, please contact us to let us know.
  • Tickets are non-refundable. Due to an increase in scalpers and the same ticket being sold to multiple people, KupoCon will no longer facilitate the buy and sell ticket posts in the Facebook Community Group. We strongly discourage you from buying tickets from others unless you trust the seller. If you chose to buy a ticket from someone else, the risk falls on the individual. KupoCon reserves the right to deny access if a ticket has already been redeemed.
  • To obtain loot, you must attend the event. KupoCon is unable to mail loot.
  • Upon access to KupoCon, attendees become responsible for their own personal liability. Attendees assume all risks with respect to the dangers incidental to KupoCon.
  • Attendee wristbands or badges are required for entry into KupoCon and must be visible at all times. Attendee Wristbands/Badges are non-replaceable, non-refundable, and non-transferable once issued.
  • Acceptance of an attendee Wristband/Badge constitutes consent to the use of the wearer’s image or likeness in any recording, transmission, or reproduction of KupoCon for use by KupoCon or any of its partners.
  • Failure to comply with the published rules of KupoCon, including disruptive or inappropriate behavior, will result in the revocation of badge and ejection from KupoCon. KupoCon may revoke badge and eject anyone from the event at anytime for any reason without a refund.

GENERAL RULES

  • Follow requests and directions of KupoCon, security, and venue staff.
  • KupoCon and the venue are not responsible for personal items. Unattended and lost items will be stored at the Mognet Central and eventually be turned over to the proper authorities (Facility Management, Police Department).
  • Appropriate attire is required at all times, including shoes, pants/shorts/skirts, and shirts/tops.
  • Each event room has limited space and seating. Seating is not guaranteed to any persons. Standing room is allowed only at the discretion of KupoCon or Facility staff.
  • Due to the number of guests, you are not guaranteed to meet special guests. If you want to make sure you do, please purchase an appropriate ticket. More information can be found on the event pages.
  • Lining up is permitted no earlier than 1 hour prior to the event opening.
  • Possession or consumption of alcohol is not permitted during the day event.
  • Please make note of the local drinking age. Anyone under the legal age found drinking or intoxicated will be reported to Facility Management and the local Police Department.
  • Smoking (including the use of vaping devices) is only permitted within designated locations outside the buildings.
  • Only registered vendors are permitted to sell at KupoCon (see Merchant/Vendor Policy below). Private sales among attendees and the arrangement of collections at the event are strictly prohibited.
  • Theft, assault, drug use, and other illegal activities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
  • Discrimination and/or harassment of any form will not be tolerated.
  • Do not hinder or obstruct the flow of foot traffic within the event area.
  • Individuals may be asked to remove large or unwieldy bags, props, or other accessories from the event areas.
  • Questions, concerns, or complaints should be brought to KupoCon staff. If you cannot locate a member of staff, ask a volunteer to help you locate one. You will always find a volunteer at the O’aka’s or Chocolina’s.
  • Photographers are welcome to shoot at the event, however you are not allowed to setup studio equipment. Handheld gear only unless specifically authorized by KupoCon.
  • Attendees may not ask guests for autographs during the evening celebrations. If a guest offers, this is acceptable.
  • Attendees are not permitted to interview special guests without written permission from KupoCon. 
  • Bringing sealed food items to KupoCon is allowed but discouraged. Attendees may not distribute any homemade food. Furthermore, special guests are unable to accept any food items as gifts.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

  • Discrimination and/or harassment of any form will not be tolerated.
  • Questions, concerns, or complaints should be brought to KupoCon.
  • Abuse towards KupoCon, its staff and attendees will not be tolerated
  • Mob-like mentality and online abuse will result in tickets being invalidated. We ask that all members of the community remain respectable and uphold a respectful and law obiding online presence when discussing KupoCon.

PROPS

  • Real weapons are banned, regardless if they are functional or not. Please do not bring them.
  • All items as listed in the Prohibited Items list are not allowed. There are no exceptions to this, regardless as to whether the item is functional or not.
  • Strictly no metal.
  • Other props may be required to be inspected and peace-bonded by KupoCon Security, at the discretion of KupoCon staff.
  • Unapproved items will be cataloged and stored. Upon exit of the event, the owner may reclaim it. Any item found to violate city, state, county or federal law may not be returned at the discretion of the local police department.
  • KupoCon Security cannot approve a prop prior to the event.
  • Prop weapons should not be carried outside the event. The local police departments may treat anyone carrying realistic looking weapons as a legitimate threat and will take appropriate action according to general Law.
  • Attendees who do not comply with this policy or are deemed repeat offenders will be subject to removal.

VENUE 

  • If an individual is responsible for damages to venue property, or endangering his/her own or anyone else’s safety, he/she will be ejected from the venue and have his/her access to KupoCon revoked. Individuals involved will be held legally and financially responsible. Venue administration may prosecute the offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
  • Noise levels must be kept to a minimum at all times. After three disturbances from a room, the guests will be ejected from venue property and their access to KupoCon may be revoked.
  • Venue guests must comply with the listed occupancy/fire-safety limits for each room. Failure to do so may result in being ejected from venue property.

MARKET SELLERS

  • You are very welcome to bring non-Final Fantasy material. Keep in mind that FF will likely sell better. Your table MUST have something relevant to the series to be eligible to display at KupoCon.
  • You are welcome to sell adult material however they must adhere to the rules found in the Adult Material’s section below.
  • You are in charge of all items within your area. KupoCon takes no responsibility for any damage, theft, loss, or injury to any item or person within the space.
  • There is a maximum number of 3 persons per table. Tables found with more than three people to a table will be asked to amend the situation. Additional tables are available for a fee. Please contact us for more info.
  • Displays on tables are allowed. Booths are welcome. Unsteady displays must be taken down. Food and covered drinks are allowed but please use common sense.
  • KupoCon does not provide change, therefore make sure you have adequate funds at hand.
  • You are prohibited from attaching items to the walls around the hall. Items found on walls will be confiscated by KupoCon staff and you will will be fined for any damage. For a list of prohibited items and actions see the Prohibited section below.
  • You are allowed to sell fan art, however you are not allowed to copy, trace or otherwise reproduce an existing piece of art and sell it as your own. Fan art must be of an original design which can utilize their favorite characters. Art theft and plagiarism is not tolerated.
  • Table selection is first come, first serve unless you have selected and paid for a reservation in advance.
  • Abuse towards KupoCon, its staff and attendees will not be tolerated. This refers to in-person and online interactions.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Alcohol and illegal substances.
  • Wheeled items (excluding mobility assistance devices), including but not limited to:
    • Segways/Hoverboards. (Excluding Zell Cosplays) [IMMITATION ONLY]
  • Revealing and/or offensive attire.
  • Weapons, including:
    • Knives, firearms, and other weapons.
    • Real guns (working, disabled, or otherwise).
    • Projectile weapons (pellet guns, airsoft rifles, pistols, disc guns, paintball markers, water pistols, or other liquid “weapons,” etc).
    • Metal blades (knives, swords, sharp items, etc).
    • Practice swords including bokens and kendo bamboo practice swords.
    • Chains, spikes (metal), leashes.
    • Any other potentially harmful weapon, prop, or item as determined by KupoCon Security.
  • Signs of any kind. The only exception will be for cosplays where it can be proven that the character has a sign. Please see our Cosplay FAQ for more details.
  • Smoke or fog machines or similar devices.
  • Laser pointers or similar devices. These items may not be used in public unless you are officially sanctioned to lead or present a gathering seminar, panel, workshop, or other gathering-sanctioned event.
  • Drones and other aerial devices.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT

  • Disruptive behavior, including but not limited to:
    • Screaming, shouting, or yelling.
    • Playing loud music or noise.
    • Horseplay or rowdiness.
    • Unsolicited physical contact.
  • Defacing or damaging venue, KupoCon, or other’s properties.
  • Discrimination and/or harassment of any kind to anyone.
  • Obstructing the flow of foot traffic within the gathering area.
  • Alcohol consumption and smoking (including the use of vaping devices) outside of designated areas.
  • Theft, assault, drug use, and any other illegal activities.
  • Nudity and inappropriate attire.

REPERCUSSIONS OF VIOLATIONS

Any of the following repercussions may occur for violations, subject to the discretion of KupoCon and Facility staff.

  • Verbal warning from KupoCon or Facility staff.
  • Confiscation of prohibited items. Confiscation may be permanent, or until the item can be safely removed from gathering premises.
  • Ejection from gathering premises and revocation of Attendeeship to KupoCon.
  • Barring attendeeship or admittance to future KupoCon and venue events.
  • Ejection from venue facilities including guest rooms.
  • Financial and legal responsibility for damages.
  • Reporting to the local police department for illegal activities or substances.
