Cardiff Pop-Up Event – September 12–13, 2026
We’re excited to announce a special KupoCon pop-up event and community drop-in weekend in Cardiff on September 12–13! But that’s not all — the weekend will also feature a special excursion Quest Log experience exclusive to the event. This unique adventure will send attendees out across Cardiff to complete activities, discover locations, and earn Gil that can be spent on merchandise throughout the weekend.
We’ll also be hosting a special 18+ Cocktail Mixer on Saturday evening, September 12, giving the community a chance to relax, socialise, and spend the evening together.

Think of it as a relaxed KupoCon drop in centre and gift shop where you can meet members of the community, grab exclusive merch, and learn more about upcoming projects. If you want KupoCon to bring a convention to Wales, now is the time to show up!

We’ve set up tables so you can come and hang out with friends, perhaps play a few games of TriPom, or simply trade with visitors at the pop-up. It’s a space to hang out while you are engaged between quests.
SPECIAL GUEST AUTOGRAPHS [FREE ACCESS]
We’ll be welcoming a special guest from the series to the pop-up. Stop by to say hello, grab an autograph or photo as a keepsake, and enjoy the chance to meet part of the world that helped bring Final Fantasy to life.
BUSTER SWORD PHOTO-OP [FREE ACCESS]
Come and get your photograph with the KupoCon Buster Sword! No purchase required. Just remember to be gentle with it — we’d like to avoid wear, tear, and rust damage from too many battles.
MEET THE TEAM + MORE [FREE ACCESS]
Come and meet the people behind KupoCon, ask questions about the event, and chat with the team in a relaxed open forum style setting. We may even have a few surprises waiting for you along the way.
QUEST LOG [PAID]
While this may not be a full scale convention, we still wanted to bring a little of that KupoCon magic to Cardiff. Special Quest Logs will allow attendees to explore the city, complete activities, earn Gil, and redeem rewards on merchandise throughout the weekend. Quest Logs will be available both in advance and during the event itself.
SATURDAY SOCIAL MIXER 18+ [PAID]
We’ve saved the best for last — Saturday evening is all about getting together, relaxing, and mingling with the community at our special 18+ Cocktail Mixer.
Tickets are required for this portion of the weekend. Registration for both the free daytime pop up and paid admission options will open on Thursday, June 18.
Can I visit any time, any day, multiple times a day?
Absolutely — you’re free to come and go throughout the weekend as you please. No ticket is required to access the daytime pop up, though please keep in mind that capacity is limited and pre registration is strongly recommended.
What is TriPom and how do I trade?
TriPom is a KupoCon trading card series based on Final Fantasy 8. You heard right! Bring along your spare TriPom and haggle with our TriPom trader for the chance to turn your unused duplicates into gil to use at our merch desk. You can also trade for different cards.
Got tips for my quest log?
Yes! We understand you wish to spend time with friends, so we advise going questing together. It’s a great way to hang out while seeing some beautiful sights you may have never ventured to before. We also recommend getting your Quest Logs as early as possible so you don’t have to rush about. You have until Sunday to cash in your quests and hunts for gil, so take your time and enjoy! A camera/phone will help!
Is there a dresscode at any point, especially for the mixer?
There is no specific dresscode or theme during the day. As always, you are welcome to cosplay. For the evening social event, there is no theme, but we encourage everyone to make an effort in treating this as a cocktail party you’ve been invited to.
