Pom West – Event FAQ
The Basics
When and where?
KupoCon will take place at the Hilton Metrotown, 6083 McKay Ave, Burnaby, BC V5H 2W7. When entering the hotel, head up the escalators. If you’re unable to use the escalators due to accessibility or bulky cosplay, feel free to use the elevator to reach the Crystal Ballroom. Please be aware that using the elevator will not bypass the queue or speed up registration.
Are children allowed at KupoCon?
Absolutely! KupoCon is a family-friendly event. Children under 12 can attend for free when accompanied by an adult ticket-holder. Don’t forget to ask for the FREE Kids Quest sheet!
I am completely new to KupoCon. Help me!
Welcome to the family! Consider joining the KupoCon Discord or Facebook Community Group. These two spaces are great for connecting with fans of the series and other attendees. We’ve also produced a few video guides for KupoCon which you can find here. The Chocobo Badge system is a great way to start if you’re new!
Can I bring my pet?
While we love pets, only service animals are allowed in the venue. This policy is in place for everyone’s comfort and safety.
Is parking available at the venue?
- Self-parking: C$21.00 per day
- Valet parking: C$29.00
- EV charging: Available onsite
- Secured and covered parking with in/out privileges.
Is there a cloakroom or bag storage for attendees?
Unattended racks will be provided, but please note that items are left at your own risk. The hotel will not accept bags, cases and other items to be stored unless you are a guest of the hotel. This is not a convention centre so please plan accordingly.
I need to change the name on my ticket. How do I do that?
You can update the name on your ticket by logging into your Eventbrite account, accessing the “Tickets” section, and using the Edit function. Need help? Contact our support desk.
Where can I find the event schedule?
You can find all the essential details, including the schedule, on our Pom West page. Be sure to check the schedule the night before as it might change. In keeping with our eco-friendly approach, there will be no physical schedules onsite.
What’s the event layout? Is it accessible?
The event spans two floors. We’ll provide a detailed breakdown during the opening ceremony. Both floors are accessible via escalators and elevators. Learn more about accessibility here: KupoCon Accessibility – Please note that there are multiple checkpoints so always have your bracelets and/or lanyards visible.
Are there any rules or restrictions?
Yes, please review our Event Policies for details on props, large cosplays, and bag restrictions. We recommend using a tote bag rather than a backpack. Most importantly, make sure your wristband and/or lanyard is always visible.
Should I bring anything with me?
A camera (or your phone) and a pen or pencil will come in handy. While we provide pencils, it never hurts to bring your own.
Are there any events happening on Friday or Sunday?
Officially, no. The only planned activity on Friday is pre-registration for patrons which we strongly encourage as it will speed up your morning entry. You can become a patron here.
Registration

When and where is registration? Can I pre-register?
Attendees should take the escalators from the ground floor. Even if you’re staying at the hotel, take the elevator to the ground floor and then follow the escalators back up.

Can I bring a bag?
Tote bags are welcome. However, backpacks are discouraged, and suitcases are not allowed. We recommend using a tote bag for convenience. Please note that the hotel cannot store goods for those not staying at the hotel.

The day starts with the Opening Ceremony at 9:30am. It’s a must-attend if you’re new to KupoCon! Afterwards, explore the marketplace and dive into activities detailed in your Quest Log. Stop by Chocolina’s for exclusive merch, and don’t miss out on the limited items!
Do I need to register for the cosplay parade?
No registration is required. Simply join the queue after the Opening Ceremony. Top-tier ticket holders receive priority.
I need to collect or drop something off. Where should I go?
Head to Mognet Central! You can collect Kupons, Autograph Bundles, and Chocobo badges (in any colour) here. It also serves as the information hub, a place to drop off Mognet Mail, and lost & found.
How does the gil system work at KupoCon?

At Mognet Central. Patrons can collect theirs during pre-registration.

Can guests sign additional items?
Yes, though additional items may come with a fee, and some sessions might have limitations.
Can I give a gift to a guest?
While guests generally appreciate gifts, please avoid consumable items. Drop off your gifts or letters at Mognet Central.
Evening Event
When is it and what’s the theme?
Join us for “Costa Del Kupo”, an evening party starting at 8pm (registration opens at 7:30pm). This 19+ beach-themed event encourages dressing up, but it’s not required. While this is a social mixer event, arriving after 9pm may diminish your experience and you may experience delays accessing the event.

Each attendee will receive a KupoCon beach ball (while supplies last).
Will the merch desk be open?
Yes, Chocolina’s will be open from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Spend $50 or more to receive an extra themed gift!
