A few months ago, we announced our Final Fantasy XVI tour. We saw a lot of excitement from the community, but we also saw a lot of disappointment. You were either disappointed because we were not coming to a location you wanted or disappointed that you were getting a launch event and not a full KupoCon “convention”. So, we’ve done some thinking and we’ve come up with a solution.

We want to reach as many people as possible for our XVI launch, so we’ve decided to go entirely digital for this event. We still plan to make a unique gift bag with goodies to celebrate the launch, but the event itself will be hosted for free on YouTube. It’s currently penciled for June 17. By hosting all our launch content online, we can reach every corner of the globe while freeing up valuable resources.

But what does this mean for the locations we planned to host physical launch events? In recent months, just like the rest of the world, we are finding it harder to budget for events with the rising costs. Events of this size are especially difficult because they are much smaller than a KupoCon and usually cost almost just as much.

However, we’re working behind the scenes to find an opportunity to bring a full-scale KupoCon to these regions as soon as we can. We think this will be appreciated by the community more than a launch party. It won’t happen overnight, but when we do come, we’ll come with everything we have to offer.

Oh, and don’t worry, we’ll do our best to have a XVI guest at all these events too.
