Al Bhed Salvage Yard
KupoCon’s clearance section featuring memorabilia from older events.

 

ATE
Active Time Event. In the middle of KupoCon, at any time (mostly at panels and ceremonies), music will sound to signal the beginning of a random activity. These vary from select participation to the entire crowd being able to take part.

 

Bank of Mog
The location to cash in your quests, achievements and workshops.

Chocobo Badges
Colour-coded stickers featuring a chocobo. Acquirable at Mognet Central and other areas. This allows attendees to convey a message to other attendees, as detailed below:

Yellow: For those who wish to interact with others but need a helping start / push forward, particularly if they have travelled alone. The chocobo badge indicates to other attendees that the person is happy to engage and interact.

Red: Introduced since the pandemic. This badge requests people to keep their physical distance and respect your personal space. Ideal for those who may be experiencing anxiety due to the pandemic or have general health concerns.

Blue: For those who may have a dissability or are there to support others. We ask that if you see a blue badge to be extra paitent. 

 

Chocolina’s
KupoCon’s merchandise desk: Generally accepts card. Does not accept gil.

 

Closing Ceremony
The unmissable send-off of the day. Cosplay winners selected and announced. The latest Warrior of Light, among other surprises, is announced here too. Reinforces the essence of KupoCon and the community spirit it is all about. Not to be missed! (Bring tissues!)

 

Cosplay Parade & Awards
The catwalk is featured in the Opening Ceremony. No registration required; everyone in cosplay is welcome to join. There are two awards: the people’s choice (Nobleman Award), and staff choice (Dressphere Award). There are no actual contests and judging panels.

Crystals (The)
A community award project recognizing the best in Final Fantasy and KupoCon. Nominations and votes were made by the wider Final Fantasy community and the results were livestreamed. Twenty-five awards were presented. Watch back here: Crystals Livestream.

 

Free Company – POM
KupoCon has a Free Company on FFXIV – Moogle (Chaos) server. All are welcome, regardless of skill level. Managed by Cloudhaze Syzygy. Lodestone link.

 

Gil
KupoCon’s unique currency. Exclusive to each event, non-transferable (so spend while you can!). Earned by taking part in quests throughout the day or other activities. The TriPom Tournament requires gil to enter.

Gil or No Gil
A KupoCon event based off the popular TV game show, “Deal or No Deal” (UK version). Hosted at The Wee Pom’s “Mog’s House Party”, Jan 2019) and online (Dec 2020). Available to watch back here: Gil or No Gil 2020.

 

Gillionaire
Short for “Who Wants to be a Gillionaire”, a KupoCon event based off the popular TV game show, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”. All questions are Final Fantasy based. Hosted physically (Pomtropolis [Apr 2018], and Pomathon [Sep 2018]) and online (Feb 2021).

 

Guest Autograph Bundles
Acquirable by purchasing at Chocolina’s or pre-ordering. These contain a token that allow you to meet all the guests at a reduced rate. With this token, guests will sign one item and allow for a selfie. Some packs contain exclusive art prints (these prints do not have to be signing material you use). Additional items or photos will be charged by the guest at their own set price. NB: This setup may vary event by event. Please consult any information available for the event you are planning to attend.

 

Honeybee Inn Program
Book your hotel through the room block code (using the link on your ticket), and you, the roomholder, will receive a set amount of gil for the event as you arrive. Applies only to the venue’s hotel and strictly when using the block code. NB: This setup may vary event by event. Please consult any information available for the event you are planning to attend.

 

Hunts
As featured in Quest Logs, hunts are tasks in which you seek out people cosplaying the characters highlighted. This involves taking a photograph of/with the cosplayer (always asking permission each time prior). Objectives vary between each hunt and reward different levels of reward. Each hunt can only be received once. Some hunts may need to be done first  before accessing higher-level hunts, known as Elite Hunts. You can obtain gil for these at the Huntsmasters’ Table. Hunts are all about respectful community interaction. If a cosplayer declines interaction, politely accept that. Get creative with something that is not a cosplay if required!

King Mog
Nickname of organiser, Alex Maine.

 

Kinga
Often known as a “KupoConga”, a Kinga is a conga line that routinely forms itself every time “Calling for Rain” (FFXV: Kingsglaive soundtrack, by NEo Liu Music) plays. Commonly occurs during evening events.

 

Kupons
A ticket that gives you access to a specific guest in the guest hall.

 

Mognet Central
A key info point and services desk. If you have an item to collect, such as an event’s GIVEBACK reward, Honeybee Inn gil, or a guest token pack, you go here. It is also the place to drop-off/collect Secret Sephiroth, or send Mognet Mail. For a full list of services per upcoming event, refer to the event’s FAQ.

 

Mognet Mail
A component of Mognet Central, Mognet Mail allows an attendee to mail a letter to a special guest or staff member. 

 

Mogzart & Melodies of Midgar
Exclusive Final Fantasy albums arranged by composer Pontus Hultgren. Four Mozart albums have been created and are available at events and the online store. Melodies of Midgar is a once-off special created for the FFVII Remake launch parties of 2020. Also available digitally to $50-tier patrons of KupoCon. See Patreon for the available list.

 

O’aka’s Gil Exchange (or Charon’s)
The location to spend your hard-earned gil. Gil-only.

Opening Ceremony
The introduction to KupoCon. Essential info is delivered to prep you for your day. Captures the essence of KupoCon and the community spirit it is all about. Not to be missed!

 

Patreon
Home to The Nibelheim Incident audio series, Compilation Lore & Easter Eggs of FFVII Remake, and many exclusives that do not become public, such as PomCast and A Cup with Queen Mog. Patrons of KupoCon can also buy event tickets 24hrs before general sale and vote on future creations within the event. Higher-tier patrons receive monthly booster packs and, at times, unique gifts.

Pomline
Online KupoCon events featuring live interviews streamed through Facebook, as well as quests and other activities that take place on its community group. May feature FC-related content and more. Four events have been held so far.

 

Presale
Accessible to patrons of KupoCon (via Patreon). The day before general ticket sales begin, patrons can avail of a 24hr head start to relieve the stress of buying. Each ticket tier will be available on general sales day; sufficient amounts will always be reserved. Discounts can be applied.

Priority (VIP)
Our highest tickets come with priority features and unique badges. Features may vary by event but typically include being registered quickest, having front-row seating reserved, and dedicated signing session blocks.

 

Queen Mog
Superior mog of the true KupoCouple, Natalie Maine. Host of “A Cup with Queen Mog”, a chat show styled video podcast, available on Patreon.

 

Quest Log
Your essential KupoCon book. Each attendee is given a Quest Log (the name of which varies by generation of events). In it is essential information to guide you through your day and, most importantly, quests, hunts, and more to partake in.

Quests
As featured in Quest Logs, quests are tasks you accomplish throughout the day to be rewarded with gil. Each quest begins with an entry/description from the moogle who wrote the log, followed by the objective and corresponding reward.

Room Block Access
Room block access means specially reserved rates for those attending KupoCon. They are generally cheaper than what the hotel offers and can come with special additions like breakfast too, in some form or another offering greater benefit than regular booking. It is not something you have to make use of, but if you intend to stay at the venue site, it is certainly beneficial.

 

Secret Sephiroth
A gift exchange program whereby people deposit a gift and collect a new one. Mostly prepared in advance of the event. Only at selected events.

 

Tokens of Masquerade
Tokens found inside each Quest Log. These are used by attendees to hand out to a cosplayer whose cosplay they admire. In the Closing Ceremony, the person with the most tokens receives the Nobleman Award (i.e., the people’s choice).

TriPom
A collectible card game inspired by Final Fantasy VIII’s Triple Triad. Quest Logs contain up-to-date lists of all collectibles as per the event and area also available to view at kupocon.com/tripom. A tournament is held at each event, with the rules featured in the Quest Logs. Artwork for TriPom is done by select artists, with featured artists as part of our Artist Series sets.

Warrior of Light
Outstanding members of the KupoCon community who have received the Warrior of Light (WoL) award. One is selected at each KupoCon for their embodiment of the KupoCon spirit. Chosen by staff. Nominations strongly discouraged to avoid displays of bias.
