Kupopo!! It’s happened! It’s finally happened! I got out of that bloody Irishman’s room!

The scent of freedom (and fresh air) sure is sweet, kupo.

Always got a goody or two in my satchel. How have I not been mugged yet?!

18 months! That long since the last physical gathering. Can you believe it? I sure can’t. The online stuff has been great, but online doesn’t give me a chance to stretch my wings and be surrounded by people that actually appreciate me.

This one was a little different. We had not one, not two, but three whole days of KupoCon & Chill. I chronicled some of the journey, so please have a look, kupo!

Before we could begin the arduous task of setup (yes, it is not easy supervising these humans – too many wristband-flinging fights – and don’t let them deny it, kupo!), we had to take a trip to some sort of magical coffer known as a “storage facility”. Alex and I very nearly almost managed to feed Alan to a Mimic – twice, in fact – but no amount of seasoning could make him appealing . . .

Well, we did get all the stuff safely transported, so I suppose it wasn’t a complete failure. There is always next time. You’ll soon have a moogle community manager, kupo. I swear on it!

Being the grafters we are, we worked late into the night like for you beautiful humans. By that I mean we ordered pizza, crashed early because of it, and took the time to apologise to Alan for the Mimic ordeal, leading him onto the wrong train to London, and calling him a one-trick pony dancer. And thus we compromised. I warmed up the bed while he continued to work. See, we do make a good team, kupo.

This way, kupo!

It’s day one, and we are ready to rock! Or, you know, sell stuff and introduce new people to KC. Same vibe for me, kupo!

Ain’t it beautiful? *Sniffle*

But we didn’t just have a plethora of swanky merchandise. We had people at the door ready to greet everyone, armed with enthusiasm and information. That is why I was positioned there over the three days. What better first impression than my face, kupo?

Welcome to KupoCon! May I take your order, please? Oh, I’m sorry, we don’t know what ‘All the Bravest’ is

What a blast these three days were. And it wasn’t even a proper KupoCon!

There was plenty to look at

There were amazing cosplayers
COSPLAYER: Susana Miranda

And there was some pretty intense TriPom trading, kupo!

Somehow, KupoCon closed its shop at 8pm but remained open until amost midnight. You see, one must settle down and binge on A Cup with Queen Mog, especially when her Highness’s subjects are in the room, alongside many others who were welcome to hang out and stay. Ahh, nothing quite like a pizza party and beer (don’t tell Alan) while watching the most “sorry not sorry” material ever produced. Ever. Kupo.

You know, as you do

Day 2!
Did you know the red chocobo badge indicates a desire to maintain social distancing?
I brought many home to keep Alan at bay

Day 2 was even busier than day 1! There were some special activities going on.

Such as this incredible activity-filled FC meetup

And Alan’s first kiss

Of course, not forgetting the most mognificent social gathering, Pomtogether!

DJ Alex on the scene. Oi-oi!

Wanna know something super cool? Patrons all over the world were able to watch the action from the comfort of their homes ♥ Might we see this at other events?!

Well, maybe not entirely comfortably for them, kupo . . .

Still, we had a blast on the dance floor.

All night dancing

And all night cheering

Huh? Cheering? Cheering for what, kupo? Oh yeah! Oh yas, kupopo!! We’re all cheering on our newest Warrior of Light!

Juliana Frostgaard, congratulations to you, kupo!

Day 3 of 3! The FF7R concert is tonight, so let’s sharpen up, kupo. Photoshop me to full vibrancy, and make it tacky!

No. 1 greeter at your “humble” service. Hmm, not vibrant enough, though

Although it was a shorter day, we had lots of new people come in before the concert. That was exciting, kupo! Much more exciting than the poor stragglers who either crawled in this morning to nurse their poor human heads or who most likely never left last night’s party.

A wee moogle handful of some amazing people who came in during our time here

It was also the last chance to win the final Melodies of Midgar vinyl. Just, emmm, one thing about it, kupo . . .

Something seems off about Cloud. Looks a little “Warrior of Light-y-ish” to me, kupo

I did my best to politely threaten people to sign our guestbook before they left. I think I am due a promotion. Did you sign it, kupo? And did you need any of my “encouragement”?

N’awww

What better way to round off the successful weekend than with an amazing concert featuring the incredible music of FF7R! I fell from the balcony and caused a scene (I, uhh, forgot I had wings), but you humans are great at breaking falls. P.S. I am not insured, kupo.

Fortunately, the concert had not yet begun, otherwise they’d have played the “Game Over” theme for me

Are they . . . just like me . . .? I’m having an existential, kupopo!!

All right, that is all, folk! I am too jet-lagged to take any selfies, so no more pictures, kupo. (Hey, moogles handle things differently, o-okay?)

I sure hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did. Wherever this is posted, tell me about one of your favourite moments, kupo! I’m sure I can find a little surprise in my trusty satchel for someone as a giveaway.

Super moogle thanks to Queen Mog herself, Natalie Maine, as well as Nikki-Hunter Pike, Ryan Stvns, and Sho Nekonyan for some of the photos used in my misadventures blog.

See you all again real soon, kupo!

Luv,
Pomko x
