KupoCast S5E3: Recap

The first episode of KupoCast for 2021 (Jan 31) revealed a plethora of information for the year ahead – even the fact you’re viewing this now on a brand new web layout! Not too shabby, eh? So, if your broadband moans at the thought of video streaming, fear not, for these images and text should be a lot smoother. Otherwise, if you see something here that piques your curiosity, check back on the original video here, or right above this paragraph for every mention of it. Besides, you want a preview of Mogzart Volume IV, right?

Upcoming Events: 12:00 – 34:30

  • Retropom for 2022 when we can host an event properly and justly
  • Aiming to put on Pomza one way or another
  • Plenty of online content to come – all free 
  • Event will be streamed on Facebook. Participants will play via Zoom
  • Fastest Finger First to decide who plays. Example of what this is
  • For prizes, gil will be exchanged for a dollar amount for the store
  • Or, there will be an exchange chart of sorts matching gil amounts to prizes
  • 5 or 6 rounds expected, up to 2-3 hours total
  • As of KupoCast’s airing, up to 8 guests at least pencilled in so far
  • More info to come
  • Want to do something similar the FF7 Remake launch parties
  • In this case, anniversary celebrations
  • Willing to host multiple days to accommodate demand
  • Social distancing a key factor in limiting these events accordingly
  • Project Flute expanded to more than the idea of an outdoor KupoCon
  • Quest Log equivalent to location-based scavenger hunts (like sightseeing and things that would be comfortable to do)

Gen 5 & New Items: 34:30 – 1:08:20

  • In line with KupoCon’s fifth birthday (Mar 28)
  • New website will also feature major announcements about Final Fantasy, as well as community spotlights
  • New logo will be what we use going forward
  • Mascot by Fiveonthe
  • Will be used throughout all 2021
  • Original mascot will still be about
  • Ticket says “5 Years”
  • UK purchases will be affected by extra VAT charges (20%) from now
  • Shipping charges reduced for everyone
  • TriPom cards 1-50 removed from general circulation – available to buy as starter packs (Aero: 1-25, Blizzara: 26-50)
  • Be aware of updated terms in the store, such as the potential problems in processing group/bulk orders
  • All promo cards now available in the store, such as Crystal Mog
  • Discontinued items include old t-shirts, event-specific memorabilia, and items from the Remake launch parties
  • Project “Mogazine” – Official name of the magazine is Memoria
  • An archive of events. First issue focusing on Gen One, “The Big Pom” and “Mind the Pom”
  • Pre-orders available to patrons. Possible it could arrive within two weeks after pre-order
  • Previous pin badge was soft enamel. This one is hard enamel
  • Size: 1.76″
  • Aiming to produce prints of different original artwork (possibly 30+)
  • Would include TriPom art, calendar artwork, guest prints, posters etc.
  • Available to buy individually or in packs
  • Every print (whether individual or in a pack) will be numbered
  • Up to 100 pieces of each print may be made
  • Sizes will vary (e.g., 4×6, 5×7, 8×10)
  • Shipping likely to be cheap due to their size
  • Promo card for Pomline IV when a certain amount is spent in the store
  • Physical copies of Volume Four will be available for Pomline IV
  • Package deal for all four for a reduced price
  • Very expensive to produce, hence the limited quantity available
  • Coming out for the Final Fantasy VII Remake roundtable event (Apr 10)
  • Originally released at Pomathon (Sep 8 2018)
  • Rereleased due to popular demand
  • Few changes made to this book to match the audiobook narrated by Liam Mulvey (FFXV’s Libertus Ostium)

TriPom & Patreon: 1:08:20 – 1:25:00

  • TriPom cards released for Gen 4.3
  • Ramuh card available as a foil
  • TriPom cards released for Gen 4.4 as of Feb 1
  • TriPom cards coming for Gen 5
  • Coming for Pomline IV (Mar 28) 
  • Examples of new limit break cards (eventually will become foils too)
  • Plenty of new cards still to come
  • New Ultima Box. Available by Pomline IV
  • Printed on thicker card than the old version
  • Anyone who pledges during February will have their name printed in the upcoming edition of Memoria
  • Everyone welcome to join the Zoom calls – no need to have camera and/or mic on
