Volunteering at KupoCon
Thanks for your interest in volunteering at KupoCon. Volunteering at KupoCon is a rewarding experience, and is essential to the smooth running of our events. Here’s your chance to become a part in making a memorable day happen.
You will be assisting with KupoCon’s attendees and staff. As a volunteer, you represent KupoCon. What kind of people are we looking for in an applicant?
- Folk passionate about the Final Fantasy series.
- Friendly personalities with a desire to assist others.
- Those keen to see the event strive.
The list could go on, of course, but if you are not afraid to work in a busy environment and are courteous with other people then you are ready for the role—and you will find your day to be one of sheer enjoyment.
“I had such an amazing time volunteering. You get to interact with so many fans of the series and I had great conversations every time people came up to the desk to buy something or get cards. I didn’t get a ticket the last time, but I felt as much a part of the event as anyone, and getting to enjoy the evening event was fab” — Volunteer at Mind the Pom

Terms & Conditions:
By submitting an application, you will be asked to agree to the following terms and conditions, if you are selected as a volunteer.
You, the volunteer, otherwise known as a l’Cie:
- Cannot be younger than 19 years old
- Must have a valid email and phone number where they can be contacted
- Will refrain from consuming alcohol or drugs while on duty
- Will comply by the volunteer dress code—i.e., wear the t-shirt and wristband
- Will be respectful and conduct yourself in a professional manner among attendees, fellow volunteers, hotel management, and all areas relevant to KupoCon, including but not limited to fal’Cie, special guests, performers, security
- Accept that failure to comply with these rules will lead to your removal from the event
- Accept that not showing up on the day, without a legitimate reason, may result in you being prohibited from volunteering at future KupoCon events
The fal’Cie, senior KupoCon staff, reserve the right to turn away volunteers at the door should they turn up in a manner unsuitable for the role (such as being intoxicated).
We will continue to uphold this throughout the day, should we find anyone’s behaviour out of order.
I’ve been Selected! What’s Next?
Our aim is to give as many applicants as we can their very own magical Sephiroth epiphany. We are not in the business of turning people away, but we have had to reject applications in the past, so please only apply if you have every intention of volunteering and are truthful in your application.
After filling in your application, you will be contacted by the community manager, Alan, (me), who will inform you of your application status.
If you are successful, you will become part of a volunteer group on Facebook, where you will be kept up-to-date with everything that will be happening and what your role will entail. Trust me when I say it will be nothing complicated or stressful.
Acceptance into the group will contain exclusive KupoCon information. Anyone found to be leaking such information will be removed from the group and prohibited from volunteering.
“Sign me up for volunteering next year! I’d love to get involved more and help out” — Attendee at The Big Pom
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s in it for me?
Our undying gratitude? Being a part of making a celebrated fan event happen? Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals from an all-inclusive position, thus having one of the best social engagements?
How about something a little more physical?
Free evening event access. A special volunteer-only loot pack. That you attend without the need for a ticket (as you also get two ½ hour breaks, so you can take part in certain activities during those times, visit stalls etc.). And even more!
Can I cosplay?
Yes, volunteers can indeed cosplay. Just bear in mind attendees will need to know you are a volunteer, so don’t overdress for the occasion. If you need clarification, just let me know how you intend to cosplay, and we’ll make something work.
Am I expected to work at the evening event?
Simply put, no. You can assist, if you want, but you are in no way expected to help with the running of the evening event.
What if I’m running late? What if I am unable to show up? Etc. etc.
Don’t worry about the questions like these. When you are part of the volunteer group, closer to the time we will run through the specifics like these 🙂
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me through the Official KupoCon Community Group or, especially if you feel your question might be one others will ask too, please ask it in the appropriate thread in the group page.
All the best, and I hope to see many of you joining the team on the day.
